A Hotel at Versailles....

Soon you'll be able to stay at one of the most beautiful places in France. Versailles is getting a hotel!

The Hotel du Grand Controle is now being renovated to be a luxury five-star hotel by the Belgian hotel company, Ivy International. This hotel is really a mansion that was built in the 1680s to serve as the offices and home of the king's treasurer. The hotel will have 23 rooms that will look out over the Orangerie, the chateau's elaborate greenhouse, or the Swiss ornamental lake. The renovation for the hotel will be complete in late 2011. The estimated cost of the project is 5.5 million euros -- or 7.3 million dollars.

Unfortunately, the hotel will be very expensive and hard to get a room at once it's open. But for those of you who "do" get to stay at the hotel, all I can say is "lucky you." Ahhh, maybe one day I'll get to stay there. Enjoy!
